Our history is our future!
Schaetti is a dedicated pioneer - and has been for more than 50 years. Josef Schaetti (see picture) founded his company in March 1957, which would ultimately prove to be the first chapter of a very long and successful story.
Schaetti was the first company to develop thermoplastic powders for use worldwide as textile adhesives within the interlining industry. Since it was founded, the company has been continuously engaged in an innovative development strategy.
The company now has a presence all over the world and in addition to its international locations also boasts a dense network of agents and sales offices.
1957
Founder and innovator
On 1 March 1957, Josef Schaetti founded the company Schaetti & Co. He developed the first thermoplastic powders for use as textile adhesives within the interlining industry.

1967
Proprietary machines
Schaetti began developing and selling its brand new coating and laminating machinery.
1968
The first affiliate
The German affiliate was founded in Klettgau-Griessen.
1972
Everything under one roof
In December, the company moved into their premises at Birgistrasse 5 in Wallisellen.
This enabled Swiss production, sales and administration to operate under one roof for the first time.
1992
A family business
Josef Schaetti retired from active service. His sons Daniel and Bruno Schaetti took over the company's operation.
1994
Growth and expansion
Another floor was added to the premises in Wallisellen in order to create additional production, warehousing and administration space.
1995
New premises in Germany
New production facilities were established at Industriestrasse 25 in Griessen.
1999–2006
Strategic alliance
Schaetti formed a strategic alliance with the English raw material supplier BOSTIK FINDLEY LIMITED. From then on, all polyamide and polyester polymers would be
developed jointly and marketed under a common label.
2000
Excellent quality
Schaetti's entire powder division was certified in accordance with the ISO 9001 quality standard.
2001
Expansion of the range
Schaetti took over the complete range of laminating systems from Kannegiesser Garment & Textile Technologies GmbH + Co. and successfully incorporated it into their own machine range. Foundation of Schaetti Line AG.
2004
Expansion of the German production facilities
Schaetti took another step forwards into the future by holding a ground-breaking ceremony for its new production plant in Klettgau-Griessen.
2005
New growth capital
The company was sold to Afinum Management AG (Germany), providing new growth capital.
2006/2007
Germany and America
Commissioning of the compounding plant/technology in Klettgau-Griessen, Germany, (two BUSS co-kneader systems), founding of Schaetti America.
2008/2009
The move into China
Building and commissioning of the polymerisation and grinding plant in Shanghai, China.
2010
Schaetti Group goes back to the Schaetti Family
The Schaetti Family takes over the Schaetti Group from Triginta Capital GmbH
