Flame retardance in textile adhesion
The demands for flame retardance have increased appreciably in recent years. Fire protection regulations stipulating the use of flame-retardant products are particularly common in the construction, transport and home textiles. Typical applications include covers for engine compartments in cars, upholstery fabrics or technical textiles used for construction purposes. Textiles can only demonstrate adequate levels of flame retardance if the hot-melt adhesive powders or hot-melts used during the adhesion process are also flame-retardant.
